The Problem

We feel that every individual has a right to be valued and supported by society.

As part of society, people with disability have the same rights as everyone else.

in particular:

A right to life

This is under threat in many ways, such as:

The BMA Guidelines on Withholding and Withdrawing Treatment
Recent court cases such as those of "Miss B" and Mrs Pretty

To us, there seems to be a growing perception that some people with disability are "better off dead".  We totally reject this.

Our Solution

We feel that society should reaffirm its commitment to valuing and support all its members, no matter what their abilities are.

If this was done, society would appreciate that people with disability are "Very Much Alive" and that we can contribute much to society.

Disabled people have exactly the same right to appropriate support as non-disabled people.

That's all we ask...

We feel that most requests for assistance in dying are due to a lack of support.
