What We Are
Home

We are...

A small group of individuals with disability who have got together to oppose a serious threat to people with disability.

We challenge the increasingly common view that sick and disabled people may be 'better off dead'.

Each of us brings a common concern but different skills and experiences.  We are all seasoned campaigners.

What we are not...

Our basic philosophy is humanitarian, not religious.  We approach this issue from a human rights perspective.

We don't suggest that straightforwardly futile or disproportionately burdensome treatment should be continued or indeed initiated.  However, we feel a clear distinction must be drawn between futile treatment and what are increasingly viewed as 'futile lives'.

We feel that the medical profession has a responsibility to ensure that it acts in the best interests of each patient as an individual, fairly and with no presumptions based on a person's disability.
